In tribute to the heritage of the square’s name, Pembroke is working closely with Kosta Boda.

Smålandstorget is an example of urban regeneration, opening up a publicly accessible space in the heart of the City. Pembroke is working closely with Kosta Boda to create public art on and around the square which everyone can enjoy.

For the grand opening of Smålandstorget, the square was decorated with some of Kosta Boda’s most recognizable glass artwork. Vivid glass balloon sculptures, in a variety of sizes and colors were hung from the glass roof of Smålandstorget. Longer-term, it is Pembroke and Kosta Boda´s intention to collaborate and create a unique external art gallery on Smålandstorget and along the new passageway to Mellangatan. It will be a creative and visual experience for the public to enjoy in the very heart of the city.

The glass sculptures will continue to be on display during the summer.
